With all the hype of going into tonight’s “McGregor show” at UFC 189, it can be easy to overlook the fights earlier in the evening. Neil “2 Tap” Seery takes on Louis Smolka. Both men are hovering around just outside the top 15. Many of Seery’s supporters & even the media that knows how good & exciting he is, have complained that he keeps getting placed on the Fight Pass Prelims.
“But I’ve put in all the work over the years… a lot of people doubted me over it for years”.
If Seery wins tonight, he will be on a three fight win streak, the only other fighter in the division with a higher streak than that is the Champion Demetrious Johnson. The division is wide open. Seery, despite being overlooked on the bout position more than once, believes tonight is his opportunity to further prove himself & advance is fighting career, but all comes with a victory over Smolka tonight.
“He’s dangerous, he showed it in his last fight… He’s game for a fight, so I’m expecting a good fight”
Seery knows the stakes by continuing his winning ways at UFC 189. Yesterday just after the weigh ins he commented.
“There’s a lot riding on tomorrow… there’s a lot of viewers tomorrow night, a lot of people tuning in & to go out & make a statement tomorrow night will put the eyes on it.. I have to go out & perform tomorrow night, I have to go out & give it me all, I have to come away with a win to get more recognition, the recognition I think I deserve in the sport”.
Neil Seery’s match up tonight is second on the Prelims & you can watch live on UFC Fight Pass tonight. Go to www.ufcfightpass.com to get subscribed on there if you haven’t done already.
