Hours after Conor McGregor tweeted his retirement from the sport. UFC chief Dana with confirmed the fighter is out of July’s UFC 200 event.

UFC chief Dana White said on Tuesday on ESPN’s SportsCenter that McGregor has been pulled from the card because he refused to attend a pre-fight press conference this week in Las Vegas.

“Obviously we still have a good relationship with Conor. I respect Conor as a fighter and I like him as a person, but you can’t decide not to show up to these things. You have to do it.”

Nate Diaz is due in Las Vegas tomorrow. It remains uncertain if he will still fight on the card, although the UFC have said they are looking for an opponent for the Stockton native.
