Conor McGregor’s opponent for the main event of UFC Fight Night Dublin, Cole Miller, has withdrawn from their July 19th fight in Dublin’s O2 Arena.
The 30-year old American pulled out of the fight after suffering torn ligaments in his thumb, and was unexpectedly absent from today’s media conference call featuring McGregor.
Fear not though, as 27-year old Brazilian Diego Brandao (18-9, 4-2 UFC) has answered the call and will step in to replace Miller and ensure that McGregor still has his main event opponent.
Brandao last fight on December 28th when he was knocked out by top featherweight contender Dustin Poirier (16-3, 8-2 UFC) inside the first round. Poirier is incidentally assumed to be McGregor’s next opponent should he be victorious on July 19th in Dublin.
Good reason why my fighters and I continually say we don’t do training camps and we don’t focus on opponents. New opponent, same result.
